poster only using text exploring the feeling of bittersweet using the word ‘almost’. i expanded it to the phrase ‘it almost could have been’.

there are there are 100 iterations of the phrase, only 1 is different to reference the idea of a ‘one in a million’ (chance) instead of fitting one million iterations which would be difficult to read.

gradients are used as a scale of chance, using solid type to represent certainty (100%) and the faded out gradient to show the uncertainity of ‘almost’ (<100%). the final iteration is solid black as it’s the only one that could be, not nearly could be.
